Friday, February 6, 2009 Introducing Faux Friday
Greetings shoe lovers! Let's get right down to business!!
Let's face it, not everyone can afford to bypass their car payment or mortgage to splurge on a pair of Christian Louboutin's. So, for those of you who have champagne aspirations but are working with a water budget, you may want to consider stepping into these less expensive, yet stylish substitutions for your favorite designer shoes. (Sidebar, you can look forward to Faux Friday substitutions every week!!)

If this were a competition for the best substitutions, I would have to give the award to the Sergio Rossi vs. BCBG Paris option! It's the best choice, toes down!
*~*~*
Now, I know last time I said we'd step into Prada... However, as I was flipping through the fragrant pages of a well known fashion magazine, I came across a Salvatore Ferragamo ad that sparked my interest. If you are familiar with certain Ferragamo shoes, the first thing you may think of is a pair of shoes that only a grandma could love. However, the ad completely through me for a loop. While I will not post the actual ad, I will share pics of the shoes!
Step into these:
The silver, green, and pirite nappa sandal with a 4 1/2 inch heelIn closing, I would like to leave you with these images (and I wouldn't dream of asking you to step into these):

These atrocious stilettos are unfortunately included in Ferragamo's 2009 Spring collection. Ok, so I've heard of 'going green', but these are defintely NOT part of Mother Nature's plan!!
If you happen to see someone wearing these shoes, it is officially considered an emergency, and you have been granted the approval to break the glass and rescue those flowers! There, now you have done your part to save our planet and perhaps the rainforest too!!
And with that, I close the show. Until next time...
Ciao!
